They (along with my merc) easily took out the entire pack, and one of the wolves died on the very last lightning volley. With my 2 Dire Wolves, I ran into an LEB beetle pack in the Far Oasis. I got through, but it was mana expensive. With my 5 SWs against a few beetle champions (this was in the Halls of the Dead), I had to recast 3-4 wolves during the battle, and only had 2-3 left afterwards.

However, I noticed a significant difference while fighting beetles (LEBs and the like are the only thing that has given me even a worry so far). I didn't really notice any difference between my 'pack' with either SW or DW. The first thing is that at least at this point (early-mid Act 2), either myself, my merc, or either group of wolves could pretty easily handle any normal situation. I had been waiting until lvl 20 to check things out (I'd have slvl 3 Dire Wolf at that point), but got bored, so I went ahead and compared my 5 slvl 5 Spirit Wolves versus my 2 slvl 2 Dire Wolves. I'm building a werewolf/wolf summoner and I'm only lvl 19, so I know these are low levels, but oh well. I'm always one more for playing experience than pure number crunching, so I'd like to throw my experience in.
